Matsunoya Nerima: Note on September 18 Reopening Dropped from Store Name

StoresUpdated

The temporary closure note appended to the name of “Matsunoya Nerima” in Nerima Ward, Tokyo, has been removed. As of the 5 p.m. hour on September 18, the store name carried in the official store information reads simply “Matsunoya Nerima.”

The note read “※Temporarily closed from 3 p.m. on September 10, reopening 3 p.m. on September 18,” writing an eight-day break and the reopening time into the store name itself. Along with the note, the values posted as the start of the temporary closure and the reopening date and time are no longer listed either.

Three entries that vanished from the listing

Field Before After
Listed store name Matsunoya Nerima ※Temporarily closed from 3 p.m. on September 10, reopening 3 p.m. on September 18 Matsunoya Nerima
Start of temporary closure 3 p.m. on September 10, 2026 Not listed
Reopening date and time 3 p.m. on September 18, 2026 Not listed

Those three points are what changed. The location (5-19-12 Toyotamakita, Nerima-ku, Tokyo) and the business hours listing are not part of this update.

This closure and reopening schedule had already been posted, as a development starting the same day, in the article published on September 10, “Matsunoya TOFROM Yaesu: September 10 Opening Pushed from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m..” The note came off the listing after 3 p.m. on the 18th, the same reopening time that had been announced in advance.

One of the Nerima Ward stores without a co-location tag

Nerima Ward, where the Nerima store stands, has six stores listed including this one. The other five are as follows.

  • Matsunoya Shakujii-Koen
  • Matsunoya Kamishakujii (co-located with Matsuya)
  • Matsunoya Shakujiidai (co-located with Matsuya)
  • Matsunoya Toshimaen (co-located with Matsuya)
  • Matsunoya Oizumigakuemachi (co-located with Matsuya)

Among Tokyo’s 23 wards, that count of six is second only to Itabashi Ward’s seven, tying with Setagaya, Nakano and Ota wards. Tokyo as a whole has 106 stores listed, the most of any prefecture out of 679 nationwide.

The Nerima store is a standalone site with neither Matsuya nor Mycurry Shokudo attached. Standalone stores number 122 of the 679 nationwide, a minority against 471 co-located with Matsuya and 86 co-located with Mycurry Shokudo, but the share rises in Tokyo at 35 of 106. With 49 co-located with Matsuya and 22 co-located with Mycurry Shokudo, standalone is the second most common type in the capital. Within Nerima Ward as well, four of the six carry “(co-located with Matsuya)” in the listed name, and the Nerima store sits outside that group.

A word from our Matsunoya novice

The store's name carried its days off, too. Take the note away and it wears a face like nothing happened.
