Shortly after 1 p.m. on October 7, 2026, Matsunoya’s official X account announced a coupon valid from 3 p.m. the same day. The post noted that “Matsunoya is currently running the Shinmai Fair for a limited time,” and went on: “We want everyone to eat their fill of delicious new-harvest rice, so we have picked out menu items that go well with rice and prepared them at bargain prices.” The attached flyer lists the four items covered along with their discounted prices, with the discounts falling into two tiers: 300 yen and 200 yen.
Four Set Meals Covered, Discounts in Two Tiers
| Item | Regular Price | With Coupon | Discount |
|---|---|---|---|
| PorkLoinCutlet w/ Tomato sauce Set meal | 990 yen | 690 yen | 300 yen |
| Pork Loin Cutlet w/ Tomato Sauce & Cheese Set Meal | 1,190 yen | 890 yen | 300 yen |
| PorkLoinCutlet w/ Grated Radish | 790 yen | 590 yen | 200 yen |
| PorkLoinCutlet w/ Miso Sauce | 790 yen | 590 yen | 200 yen |
The regular prices printed on the flyer match, for all four items, the prices listed on the official website’s menu as of October 7, 2026. The flyer’s tagline — “Put the pork loin cutlet on top of the rice: good with miso, good with grated radish!” — puts the pairing with rice front and center.
The 300-Yen Discount Equals the Gap Between Cutlet-Only and Set Meal
The official website’s menu lists the main dish on its own as “PorkLoinCutlet w/ Tomato sauce” at 690 yen and “Pork Loin Cutlet w/ Tomato Sauce & Cheese” at 890 yen. With the coupon applied, the set meal prices come out identical to those two items.
For the two items discounted by 200 yen, the resulting 590 yen sits 100 yen below the 690 yen of the “PorkLoinCutlet” set meal.

How to Use It: A 2D Code at the Ticket Machine
The flyer states, with an arrow, “First, hold this 2D code up to the ticket machine’s 2D code reader.” On store coverage, the top of the flyer says “Also usable at stores co-located with Matsuya,” and the bottom says “Usable at all Matsunoya stores, excluding some locations.”
As for an end date, the flyer says only “This campaign may end without prior notice,” and neither the post nor the flyer gives a specific date.

Another Promotion Also Starts at 3 p.m. on October 7
The previous X Coupon, for the Aki no Donburi Matsuri, ended at 3 p.m. on September 30, 2026. The seafood Sozai Fair that began right afterward is still running, and according to a post on October 6, 2026, the same prices will apply at the ticket machine from 3 p.m. on October 7, 2026 without holding up a 2D code. The Shinmai Fair coupon starts at that same hour, overlapping with it.
Another rice-related initiative appeared on September 30, 2026. The “Shinmai Okawari Muryo Fair,” which makes dine-in rice refills free with the purchase of a set meal, started at 3 p.m. that day; the difference there is that it covers refills rather than a discount.
Update: Matsuben Net and Point Awards Excluded
At 1:55 p.m. on October 7, 2026, the official X account posted the same coupon announcement again, adding a note at the top that was absent from the 1:04 p.m. post: “Please note that this coupon cannot be used unless the 2D code is scanned. It is also excluded from Matsuben Net and from point awards. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.”
To buy at the discounted prices, the 2D code has to be read by the ticket machine, which means Matsuben Net — the advance-order service for takeout — is not covered. No points are awarded either.
The Sozai Fair starting at the same 3 p.m. hour works differently: the October 6, 2026 post said the Sozai Fair prices would be “the same on the Matsuya Foods app.” Two initiatives begin at the same moment, but the 2D code requirement is reversed between them.
A word from our Matsunoya novice
Hm. Cheaper, but no points. One perk per customer, apparently.
