This is a reference translation. The Japanese version is the authoritative original.

At 10:00 a.m. on October 6, the giveaway attached to the Kid’s Meal (500 yen) at tonkatsu chain Matsunoya switched to a collaboration-exclusive Sumikkogurashi Reflector Keychain. As of the morning of the same day, the menu image on the official website had also been replaced, with the banner now naming the giveaway. The price stays at 500 yen.

Distribution runs until 9:59 a.m. on November 17, one of six designs at random

The collaboration runs from 10:00 a.m. on October 6, 2026 to 9:59 a.m. on December 22, 2026. Within that window, the keychains are handed out only until 9:59 a.m. on November 17, and while supplies last. The campaign covers Matsuya and Matsunoya stores nationwide, and on the Matsunoya side the one eligible item is the Kid’s Meal.

The keychain comes in six designs, and one is handed out at random per eligible item ordered. Customers cannot choose the design. The notice says the keychain reflects light in the dark and has space on the back to write a name.

Once the keychains run out, Matsunoya says it will switch back to the regular-period giveaway. A Vol. 2 of the campaign is planned to start at 10:00 a.m. on November 17.

The food in the photo did not change, only the banner

The earlier image carried a light-blue banner along the bottom reading only “with a giveaway,” without indicating what came with the meal.

In the new image the banner is pink, and alongside an illustration of a white bear character it names the giveaway: “Comes with a Sumikkogurashi Reflector Keychain!” The bottom right of the banner carries a “©2026 San-X” credit.

What sits on the plate (rice, Fried Shrimp, karaage, French fries, Shredded Cabbage) and what is lined up beside it — egg furikake, ketchup, two jellies, and the carton milk drink Morinaga Mommy Lactic Acid Bacteria Drink — are identical in both images. The yellow note “*The type of French fries varies by store.” appears in both as well. The way the food is presented was left alone; only the giveaway announcement was swapped out.

The listing image had also changed on September 30

The image used for the Kid’s Meal had already been swapped once on September 30. That is the same date the collaboration was announced.

Price is 500 yen, nutrition information unchanged

A word from our Matsunoya novice

Hmph. Before it just said "with a giveaway." What comes with it is the part you say first.
