Matsunoya to Launch Sheepmeat "Jingisukan Set Meal" at 3:00 p.m. on October 14, 2026

Matsuya Foods will launch the Jingisukan Set Meal at Matsunoya, its tonkatsu chain, from 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. The set meal is 1,190 yen tax included, and Jingisukan only is 990 yen. It goes on sale at Matsunoya locations nationwide except for some stores, and the notice states that stores co-located with Matsuya are excluded.

The notice says all prices include tax and that dine-in and takeout prices are identical. Takeout is available, but miso soup with a takeout order carries a separate charge. Shareholder Benefit Vouchers can be used for the Jingisukan Set Meal.

Sheepmeat Finished by “Oil-Cooking”

The dish uses carefully selected Aussie Sheepmeat. Matsuya Foods says it is finished by the oil-cooking method particular to a tonkatsu chain, keeping the meat’s distinctive flavor while making the texture tender and easy to eat. It is then tossed in a soy-sauce-based special tare. The vegetables coated in that tare are also described as “finished to a flavor worthy of a lead role.”

The notice image shows sheepmeat served in an iron pan with cabbage, green peppers and carrots, all coated in the tare. Along the top of the image, the Matsunoya logo sits beside the AUSSIE SHEEPMEAT logo.

The First Sheepmeat Item Since August 2024

Sheepmeat on the Matsunoya menu has appeared in official notices on the company website twice before: the Lamb Cutlet in August 2023, and its re-release in August 2024.

Both times the Lamb Cutlet was served as a cutlet, and a Mixed set meal pairing it with the Pork Loin Cutlet was offered alongside. This time the dish comes griddle-style, and the notice lists no Mixed option. The meat is the same, but the item is a different one — this is not a re-release of the Lamb Cutlet.
