Matsunoya Lists "Double Loin Pork Fried Steak Set Meal" That Was Missing From Its Announcement

On September 30, 2026, Matsunoya’s official website listed the “Rib” Loin Pork Fried Steak Set Meal w/ Back Fat Ginger Sauce along with two items in the Platter category, for a total of three items. All three are priced at 1,090 yen. The official notice sets the start of sales at 3:00 p.m. the same day.

The three items had already been announced in an official notice dated September 25, 2026, at which point none of them appeared on the website’s menu. They have now lined up on the menu pages under the same names and at the same prices.

The prices match, but the numbers do not. Energy is highest in the platter with Pork Loin Cutlet at 1,356kcal, a gap of 161kcal over the platter with Authentic Karaage, the lowest of the three. The Pork Loin Cutlet pairing also carries 77.0g of fat, 13.3g more than the karaage pairing. Salt equivalent runs the other way: the “Rib” Loin set meal on its own is highest at 6.9g, while the Pork Loin Cutlet platter is lowest at 5.3g.

Where 1,090 Yen Fits In

The 1,090-yen price slots into a gap that was open between existing menu items.

In the Set Meal category, below this new “Rib” Loin set meal sit the 1,050-yen Large Rib Roast Pork Loin Cutlet and DoublePorkLoinCutlet, while above it sit four items at 1,150 yen and up, among them DoublePorkLoinCutlet w/ Miso Sauce and Large Rib Roast Pork Loin Cutlet w/Grated Radish. At 1,090 yen, this is the only set meal.

The Platter category is even clearer. Until now it split into three items at 990 yen (Pork Loin Cutlet & Fried White Fish, the same with Fried Squid, and the same with Authentic Karaage) and four items at 1,190 yen and up, with nothing in the price range between. The two new items land there.

Official Notice Says “This Year Too”

The official notice dated September 25, 2026 announced the launch under the headline “Rich stamina menu items that go great with rice are back!” and states in the body that they “will be sold this year too.” The items are presented not as new products but as the return of items carried before.

Also starting at 3:00 p.m. on that same September 30 is a fair making rice refills free with set meals.
