Matsuya Foods announced on September 29 that it will run a PayPay Coupon marking 6 million members on the Matsuya Foods official app. From 0:00 on Thursday, October 1, 2026 to 23:59 on Saturday, October 31, prepaying 800 yen (tax included) or more per order with PayPay through an eligible ordering channel returns up to 10% in PayPay Points. Matsunoya is among the covered stores.

The announcement image states that the points are awarded at a later date and cannot be withdrawn or transferred. A “PayPay Scratch Lottery” runs over the same period, but the notice goes no further than pointing readers to the PayPay app for details.

Only orders paid for in advance qualify

Four ordering channels are eligible: Matsuben Net, Matsuya Mobile Order, Matsuben Delivery and the Matsuben Net mini app. Each requires prepayment with PayPay, so an order paid at the store does not meet the condition. Every Matsunoya has a ticket machine, and anything paid for there falls outside the coupon.

The covered brands are Matsuya, Matsunoya, Mycurry Shokudo, Sushi Matsu, Matsuken Chuka Shokudo, Matsutaro, Steak-ya Matsu, Steak Set Meal & Rice Bowl Matsugyu, Mugi no Toriko and Tukkun² nationwide, with some locations excluded. Expressway PA stores are cited as an example of the exclusions.

Clearing 800 yen depends on what you order

This is not a discount on particular items. It is built on a threshold for a single payment and a return rate, so whether an order qualifies comes down to what is in it. Measured against the Matsunoya prices listed on the official website as of September 29, it breaks down as follows.

Category Listed Items Items under 800 yen Price Range
Set Meals 21 3 690–1,390 yen
Platters 16 0 970–1,390 yen
Bowls 7 5 690–1,050 yen
Morning set meals and bowls 8 8 330–590 yen

The three set meals that fall short are PorkLoinCutlet (690 yen), PorkLoinCutlet w/ Miso Sauce (790 yen) and PorkLoinCutlet w/ Grated Radish (790 yen). The two at 790 yen clear the line with one addition, such as Tartar Sauce at 60 yen or Miso Soup at 90 yen. The 690-yen set meal, and PorkLoinCutlet Bowl and PorkLoinCutletBowl w/ Miso Sauce at the same 690 yen, still come to 790 yen with one 100-yen addition; nothing below 110 yen gets them over the line. The morning lineup runs from 330 to 590 yen, so no single item meets the condition.

The cap, on the other hand, is far off. Divided back out at 10%, 200 points corresponds to a 2,000-yen payment, but the most expensive items currently listed at Matsunoya are the Extra Thick-Cut Rib Loin Cutlet w/ Tomato Sauce & Cheese Set Meal and the “Meaty” Chicken “Breast” Cutlet & Fried Shrimp (2 pcs) Set Meal at 1,390 yen — a price range that one item alone cannot reach.

After a run of app-driven initiatives

Since the end of August, Matsunoya has announced one app-driven initiative after another: triple points on Matsuya Mobile Order, and extra points for evening pickup on Matsuben Net. All of them were fixed to short windows. This coupon is set across the whole of October.
